From part number to verified footprint.

Everything you need to get from a part number to a verified footprint.

Getting started

PartSpark turns a part number, datasheet link, PDF, or even a photo of a pinout page into a linked schematic symbol and PCB footprint. Sign in with a free account (the same login as ProtoFlow) and search your first part — generations are checked against the source datasheet before you export.

Using the AI generator

Paste a part number, upload a datasheet PDF, or drop in a URL and the generator gets to work immediately. It typically returns a linked symbol and footprint in under a minute for common parts — datasheet-heavy MCUs can take a few minutes. From there you review the pin and pad tables before exporting. You can attach up to 6 files (20 MB each, 22 MB combined).

Datasheet parsing

The AI reads the real datasheet PDF — not a guess from a generic library — and extracts the pinout, package, and mechanical dimensions automatically. This is what lets PartSpark handle parts that off-the-shelf footprint libraries don’t cover, including brand-new and end-of-life components.

Footprint & symbol output

Each generation produces a schematic symbol and PCB footprint that are already linked pin-to-pad, so there’s no manual mapping step. Pin and pad tables are laid out for a quick side-by-side check against the datasheet, and anything the AI was unsure about is flagged as a warning. If something is off, describe the correction in plain English and the AI revises the same part.

Exports

Every generation exports to KiCad (.kicad_sym / .kicad_mod), EAGLE (.lbr), Altium (.SchDoc / .PcbDoc with library import instructions), and Allegro (an EDIF symbol, KiCad footprint, and pad-table conversion guide). Premium AI models and 3D STEP/WRL generation are available on paid ProtoFlow plans. One click also opens the part directly in the free ProtoFlow desktop app.

API

A public API for programmatic part generation isn’t available yet. If you’re interested in API access for your workflow, reach out through admin@protoflow.ai and we’ll follow up.
